Cyber Security can be understood as an umbrella term for a wide range of different topics. Starting with cryptography as a mathematical discipline, ranging over basically all computer science relevant fields, it spans over to psychology (e.g. social engineering) and legal aspects (e.g. privacy) to political aspects like a governmental cyber security policy.
The DAS ETH in Cyber Security provides a programme in continuous education that focuses on technical (computer science) aspects of cyber or information security.
The programme consists of a set of required courses as well as a set of elective courses. Given the broad range of research at ETH on cyber security related topics, it allows participants to choose from a multifaceted set of graduate courses. To complement the more technical courses, the set of elective courses includes policy and strategy-oriented courses provided by the center for security studies.
Attendees of the programme get a solid understanding of today’s challenges and problems associated with cyber security. Furthermore, attendees are introduced to state-of-the-art solutions, techniques, and research results in terms of the topics presented in the courses.
The target audience for the programme are professionals, engineers as well as executive staff members from the industry or the public sector (including military and intelligence), who need in-depth knowledge in terms of information technology related fields of information security.
